Getting started with Grok Bot (Avance Talent Team)
1. Hire Dr Egg, the bot that builds your other bots.
Open dr eggbot and add it.
It asks a few questions about how you work, then builds bots for you.
2. Have Dr Egg set up your Chief of Staff.
Tell it: "Set me up with a Chief of Staff that knows I'm on Avance's talent team, watches my inbox and calendar, and keeps my other bots coordinated."
Then ask your Chief of Staff to connect Outlook and your calendar.
3. Have Dr Egg build your talent bots.
Start with one, then chain them together.
- Interview prep. Before each call, it sends you one note covering who the candidate is, why we're excited, their stage, what's already been covered, and what to focus on. Try the Recruiting Coordinator template for scheduling.
- Scorecard drafter. After an interview, it pulls the transcript, matches it to the role's scorecard and drafts your feedback in your voice. Then it asks you a few questions, like your rating, your gut read and what to pressure-test next, and redrafts. You review it and submit.
- Overnight sourcer. It finds candidates overnight, skips people already in our network, and drafts outreach, so a shortlist is ready in the morning. You approve every send. Try the Talent Scout and Talent Discovery templates.
- Search analyst. It looks across past searches for where candidates fall out and why, and turns that into questions for the first screen.
- Talent network builder. It keeps a tracker of founders and operators from public sources, which feeds Avance's BD and portco talent network.
- Monday digest. Every Monday morning, it sends you your open searches, what's stalled and what you owe candidates.
4. Get the most out of it.
- Onboard it like a new teammate. Walk it through a task once, then ask it to save that as a reusable skill.
- Feed it your voice. Point it to your best outreach, debrief notes and offer emails before it drafts anything.
- Correct it once. Feedback like
"too salesy"
becomes a standing rule. - Use voice mode on the go. Say what you need while you're between meetings.
- Chain your bots so you're not the glue. The candidate's context moves from sourcing to prep to scorecard without you re-explaining anyone.
Ground rules
- It drafts and you send. Nothing goes to candidates or anyone else without your OK.
- Check the facts and numbers before anything leaves the firm.
- Keep candidate and portco details inside your Avance-licensed account.
- Questions go to Neil.
